The Dispossessed (Faith)

Homelessness is often generational. Sometimes those that were in shelters as children return as adults with their own children. The recidivism rate of families can often be high. About 15,000 people (includes families) access shelter in Philadelphia each year; this does not include the many people who are turned away from shelters due to capacity. One out of 20 high schoolers has experienced homelessness in Philadelphia, many of whom are turned away from shelters due to lack of room.
